The Modernization and
Virtual Library Project
The Modernization and Virtual Library Project (MVLP)
is one of the pilot projects that are currently running to establish
the landmark for launching the unity virtual community. It aims at developing
a Library information system that is accessible to unity virtual community
members including UUC students, instructors and administrative staff.
Three areas are covered by this project:
- Modernizing / automating the current UUC library system it includes
restructuring of the manual system.
- Conducting A research for the available e-books and new software's.
- Digitalizing and Making it virtual library that will be accessible
to virtual community members.

Virtual Library System
A virtual library will be developed to
the Unity Virtual Library members which aims at:
- Developing digital library system that can
enhance the accessibility of available information to current stake
holders.
- Being a role model and an ideal information
service provider and
- Contributing to the financial well being of Unity
Virtual Community.
The newly developed virtual library will
be accommodating vast amount of educational and research materials. Though
the short term aim of the project is to computerize the UUC Library, it
has future plans to scale up the existing system for commercial use.
Modernizing the UUC Library
Modernizing the Unity University Library (UUC Library Automation and e-library
development) will fully automate the Public and Technical Services of
the library which will:
- Increase the quality of the service being provided.
- Increase the accessibility of information.
- Improve the Quality and rate of the Internal
Reporting process.
- Decrease the time wasted for students in searching
for the right information.
- Decrease the rate of complaints on the services.
- Minimize clerical errors made during circulation
process.
- Decrease the Work load of the Staffs.
- Decrease the period between the acquisition and availability
of information to users.
